Question 1

What is ept AI?

Accepted Answer

ept AI is an Agentic Sales Platform for technology companies that sell complex products: semiconductors, electronics, industrial automation, medical devices, scientific instruments, and similar OEM suppliers. It connects to the systems you already run (CRM, product documentation, support, catalog, email) and builds Living Profiles of your products, customers, stakeholders, deals, and competitors. Four applications deliver that intelligence where work happens: Deal Room for sales reps, Application Room for business development, AI Applications Engineer for FAE and support teams, and AI Product Channel for customer-facing product discovery.

Question 2

Is this built for how we sell?

Accepted Answer

If you sell complex products to technical buyers through long cycles with multiple stakeholders, a catalog deeper than any single rep knows, and design-in wins that generate revenue for years, yes. ept AI was built specifically for that motion. Reps walk into every meeting with account intelligence already assembled, business development sees segment whitespace before individual deals exist, and applications engineers answer technical questions in seconds from your actual product knowledge. If your sales motion looks different, tell us and we will give you an honest answer.

Question 3

Which industries does ept AI serve?

Accepted Answer

Semiconductor and electronics, industrial automation, energy and power electronics, medical devices, scientific instruments and test and measurement, physical security, and infrastructure SaaS with technical buyers. The common thread is the commercial motion, not the label: complex technical catalogs, FAE-supported sales, and distributor or installer channels.

Question 4

How does ept AI compare to Salesforce?

Accepted Answer

Salesforce is your system of record. It captures what happened: calls logged, stages moved, emails sent. ept AI does not replace it. What Salesforce was never designed to do is help a rep understand an opportunity, prepare for a technical conversation, surface cross-sell signals across your catalog, or answer a customer's product question at 2am. Salesforce knows your pipeline; ept AI knows your products, your customers' architectures, your competitive landscape, and the commercial dynamics of every active relationship. It connects natively to Salesforce and HubSpot, reads from them, and writes back. No migration, no rip-and-replace, no new system for your team to live in.

Question 5

How does ept AI compare to Microsoft Copilot?

Accepted Answer

Microsoft Copilot is a productivity layer on the Microsoft ecosystem: Teams, Outlook, Dynamics, SharePoint. It is good at summarizing email, drafting messages, and surfacing what is in your Microsoft data. It has no knowledge of your products, your customers' technical requirements, your competitive landscape, or the OEM design-in sales motion, and connecting it to Dynamics does not change that. ept AI is an intelligence layer built specifically for complex-product sales. The two coexist: teams use Copilot for productivity and ept AI for domain-specific sales, applications, and market intelligence.

Question 6

How is ept AI different from ChatGPT or a generic AI assistant?

Accepted Answer

A public chatbot knows the public internet. It has surface-level knowledge of your products and competitors, no knowledge of your customers or stakeholders, and no deal context. ept AI is grounded in your own systems and returns cited answers from your catalog, documentation, CRM, and conversations. Every interaction enriches Living Profiles that belong to your company, so the intelligence compounds in your environment rather than in a generic model.

Question 7

Does ept AI replace our CRM?

Accepted Answer

No. Deal Room reads from and writes back to your CRM. It is the intelligence layer your reps use day to day; your CRM remains the system of record.

Question 8

Will my sales reps actually use this, or will it fade out like every other tool we have tried?

Accepted Answer

Most sales tools fail at adoption because they ask reps to change how they work or maintain their own data. ept AI is designed in the opposite direction: forward an email when something relevant comes in, review the pre-call plan before a meeting, ask a question when you need one. No new data entry and no new system to live in full time. In a 12-week pilot at Novanta, roughly 100% of reps were still using Deal Room at week 10 and it had surfaced 430 cross-sell signals across 30 rooms. Value on day one creates the habit; the habit builds the compounding intelligence.

Question 9

Is our data private and secure, and does it train your AI models?

Accepted Answer

Your data never trains ept AI models. Everything your organization puts into ept AI (account history, customer data, product intelligence, deal context) stays tenant-isolated and proprietary to you. No other customer can access it and it is not shared with third parties. Every answer shows its sources so your team can verify where information came from. Private cloud and on-premises deployment are available, and SSO, role-based access control, and audit logging are standard. Full security documentation is available at trustcenter.ept.ai or on request.

Question 10

How does ept AI prevent hallucination?

Accepted Answer

Every answer is grounded in your connected systems and carries inline citations back to the source record, document, or conversation. Users click through to verify before acting, and the assistant escalates to a human expert when a question falls outside what your data supports.

Question 11

What integrations are required to start?

Accepted Answer

A demo needs none; we build it from your public web presence. Production deployments connect to Salesforce or HubSpot, email and calendar, and your document stores such as Google Drive, SharePoint, or Confluence. OAuth, webhooks, a REST API, and MCP servers cover the rest of your stack. See the full list on the platform overview.
